Isa po akong proud member ng NEC Multi-Purpose Cooperative mula pa noong 2017. Noong una, mga laruan lamang ang laman ng aking maliit na tindahan dahil ito ay matatagpuan sa tapat ng isang elementary school.

Isang araw, ako ay napuntahan ng staff ng NEC MPC Cooperative at inalok ng mga produkto at oportunidad na makakuha ng dagdag na puhunan. Doon ako nagkaroon ng lakas ng loob na subukang palawakin ang aking tindahan. Unti-unti akong nagdagdag ng iba’t ibang paninda na maaaring bilhin ng mga customer sa aming lugar.

Sa tulong ng puhunan at suporta ng kooperatiba, natuto akong mag-risk sa negosyo, magdagdag ng paninda, at mas pagbutihin ang aking maliit na tindahan. Hindi lamang lumago ang aking negosyo, kundi natuto rin akong mag-ipon sa pamamagitan ng Share Capital sa kooperatiba.

Ngayon, ang dati kong maliit na tindahan na puro laruan lamang ang laman ay isa nang mas kumpletong sari-sari store na nakakatulong sa pang-araw-araw na pangangailangan ng aming komunidad.

Lubos ang aking pasasalamat sa NEC MPC Cooperative sa patuloy na paggabay at pagtulong sa mga miyembro tulad ko upang makamit ang mas maayos na kabuhayan.

In 2015, armed with courage, passion, and a clear vision for her family’s future, Ms. Shelamar Araneta made a life-changing decision. With the help of a ₱30,000 loan from the cooperative, she purchased her 3rd and 4th sewing machines — a small investment that would later become the foundation of a growing enterprise.

At that time, her dream was simple: to strengthen her small tailoring business and create opportunities for her family members, who became her very first employees. What she lacked in capital, she made up for with determination, discipline, and exceptional skill.

Through years of perseverance, sleepless nights, and an unwavering commitment to quality, her humble shop steadily gained the trust of clients. Small tailoring jobs turned into bulk orders. Occasional projects evolved into year-round contracts. With every stitch, she was not just sewing garments — she was building a future.

Today, Ms. Araneta proudly operates a sewing enterprise with more than 20 machines and employs no less than 50 workers from the community. Her business now sustains dozens of families, providing stable livelihood and continuous opportunities throughout the year.

Despite receiving various offers from banks where she could qualify for significantly larger loans — given the assets and capital she has already built — Ms. Araneta chose to remain with the cooperative. For her, it is not only about financial assistance. It is about trust, loyalty, and gratitude. She believes that beyond business growth, supporting the cooperative means helping strengthen the very community that once supported her when she needed it most.

Her journey is more than a business success story — it is a story of faith, hard work, loyalty, and the power of cooperative spirit. From a ₱30,000 loan to a thriving enterprise, she proves that when opportunity meets determination, remarkable growth follows.

Ms. Shelamar Araneta’s story stands as a powerful reminder that with the right support system and a grateful heart, even the smallest beginnings can lead to extraordinary success.

A widow for almost 14 years with two (2) sons. An administrative employee of a government agency, buy and sell dried fish, dried pusit, baked assorted goodies and molding of chocolate flowers as additional income to sustain my daily obligation as a solo parent.

I have been a member in our coop for more than a 2 decades already. I started as NATCCO COOP pa and now as NEC MPC CUBAO kamay-ari. I have been through ups and downs pero nariyan po parati ang ating kooperatiba sa pagbibigay ng mga options upang mairaos ang mga responsibilidad bilang kamay ari.

We rented an apartment way back 2004 until the owner decided to sell the apartment in 2020. I have no means of that large amount so I tried to talked to the owner if it be possible for us to have it rent to own, which is by the grace of God make it happen.

Rent to own for 5 years….Dito na po ako lumapit sa ating kooperatiba sa tulong nila ma’am Joy Aquino, sir Alvin Varona, sir Ruel Tomo, ma’am Dyna Velasco and the rest na bumubuo upang maisakatuparan at mapasa amin ng tuluyan ang apartment na aming tinitirhan.

Alam ko marami sa ating kamay-ari ang naghahangad na sana in the future isa sa mga programa ng ating kooperatiba ay ang pabahay….pero hindi po in the future… dahil ito ay nangyari na po sa akin. Last year lamang po July 2025 naisakatuparan na po ng NEC MPC Cubao sa aming pamilya ang tinitirhang apartment dito po sa Project 4, Q.C. Brgy. Marilag.

In 2011, Lorna Cajulao joined NEC Multi-Purpose Cooperative – Taguig Branch to support her growing Ukay-Ukay business, which was only two years old at the time. What started as a small enterprise has now flourished into a network of four branches, two in Barangay Katuparan and two in Lower Bicutan along with an additional Ready-to-Wear (RTW) line, employing eight people and serving more customers than ever.

Before becoming a member of NEC MPC, Lorna faced financial challenges. “I had many debts because that was the capital I used to start my business,” she recalled.

At first, she did not take out a loan from the cooperative. She began by saving and later only availed of a loan when she needed additional capital to grow her business. “The cooperative was a big help in increasing my working capital,” she shared.

Thanks to the support of NEC MPC, Lorna has been able to expand her business steadily. Over the years, she added more branches and strengthened her team, directly helping employees and contributing to the community.

“Because of the loans I took from NEC Taguig, I was able to invest more in my Ukay-Ukay and RTW business, especially for purchasing stocks,” she explained. Regular borrowing and repayment also helped her grow her savings and share capital over time.

Membership in the cooperative has brought significant positive changes to their life and their family. “It has made a big difference. I can now support my family, send them money, and expand my business. During the pandemic, we were even able to build our house and rental apartment without taking out a loan,” she proudly shared.

Beyond financial growth, Lorna has learned valuable lessons about responsibility and gratitude. “If you borrow, you must also repay properly. The cooperative helped me, and I must also give back,” she emphasized.

Being part of NEC MPC has given a sense of security and belonging. “It feels great to be a member because they really take care of you,” she said.

Ako si Agnes Cosinas, miyembro ng NEC Multipurpose Cooperative mula pa noong 2020. Sa kasalukuyan, ang aming pangunahing pinagkakakitaan ay ang Motorcycle Parts and Services na negosyo ng aming pamilya.

Bago ako maging miyembro ng NEC MPC, dumaan kami sa malaking pagsubok lalo na noong 2020, kasagsagan ng pandemya. Naging mahirap ang takbo ng aming negosyo at naapektuhan ang aming pananalapi. Bukod pa rito, mayroon akong limang anak na nag-aaral, kaya malaking hamon para sa amin kung paano mapapanatili ang negosyo at matustusan ang kanilang pag- aaral.

Dahil sa sitwasyong iyon, naengganyo akong maging miyembro ng kooperatiba sa tulong at pag- encourage ni Sir Joy, Loan Supervisor ng NEC MPC Bulacan. Ipinaliwanag niya kung paano makakatulong ang kooperatiba upang magkaroon kami ng karagdagang kapital para sa aming negosyo.

Sa pamamagitan ng puhunang hiniram namin sa NEC MPC, unti-unti naming napalago ang aming negosyo. Dahil sa tiwala at suportang ibinigay sa amin ng kooperatiba, nakapagdagdag kami ng iba’t ibang motorcycle parts na bagong lumalabas sa merkado, kaya nakasabay kami sa demand ng mga customer.

Malaki ang naging tulong ng kooperatiba sa aming pamilya. Dahil sa pag-unlad ng aming negosyo, nakapagpatapos na kami ng isang anak bilang Mechanical Engineer at isa bilang High School Teacher, at ang isa naman ay kasalukuyang OJT sa kursong Marine Engineering.

Isa ang NEC Multipurpose Cooperative sa mga naging katuwang namin sa pagbangon ng aming negosyo, lalo na noong dumaan kami sa matinding pagsubok. May mga pagkakataon na akala namin ay magsasara na ang aming hanapbuhay, ngunit dahil sa kooperatiba na nagtiwala at tumulong sa amin, nagkaroon kami ng pag-asa at pagkakataong makabangon muli.

Para sa amin, napakaganda ng NEC Multipurpose Cooperative dahil tunay nilang ipinapakita ang malasakit sa kanilang mga miyembro. Maliit man o malaki ang negosyo, mararamdaman mo na maalaga sila at madaling kausap. Malaki ang naitulong nila sa mga katulad naming nagsusumikap na mapalago ang aming kabuhayan at mabigyan ng magandang kinabukasan ang aming pamilya.

Ako si Evelyn Angelo, miyembro ng NEC MPC mula pa noong 2021. Dati akong empleyado, ngunit sa paglipas ng panahon ay nagpasya akong subukan ang pagnenegosyo. Sa kasalukuyan, isa na akong negosyante sa larangan ng ukay-ukay at pagbebenta ng mga accessories.

Nagsimula akong magnegosyo noong panahon ng pandemya sa pamamagitan ng live selling. Hindi naging madali ang simula dahil isa sa mga naging pangunahing hamon ko noon ay ang kakulangan ng sapat na puhunan upang mapalago ang aking negosyo. Limitado lamang ang aking mga produkto at minsan ay nahihirapan akong makasabay sa demand ng aking mga customers. Dahil dito, naisipan kong lumapit sa NEC MPC upang humiram ng karagdagang kapital na makakatulong sa pagpapalago ng aking negosyo.

Malaki ang naging tulong ng NEC MPC sa aking pagnenegosyo. Dahil sa karagdagang puhunan na ipinagkatiwala sa akin ng kooperatiba, nakabili ako ng mas maraming produkto at mas napalawak ko ang aking paninda. Dahil dito, dumami rin ang aking mga suki at nagkaroon pa ako ng mga resellers na tumutulong sa pagbebenta ng aking mga produkto. Unti-unti kong nakita ang pag-unlad ng aking maliit na negosyo.

Noong una, sa harap lamang ng aming bahay ang aking pwesto. Ngunit sa patuloy na pagsisikap, tiyaga, at tamang paghawak sa aking kita, nakapagpatayo na ako ngayon ng mas maayos at mas komportableng tindahan para sa aking mga suki. Bukod pa rito, nakabili na rin ako ng sasakyang ginagamit ko sa pagpunta sa mga bazaar at sa pagkuha ng aking mga paninda, na malaking tulong sa pagpapalago ng aking negosyo.

Malaki ang aking pasasalamat sa NEC Multipurpose Cooperative dahil naging bahagi ito ng aking paglalakbay tungo sa pag-asenso. Ang kanilang tiwala at suporta ay naging malaking inspirasyon upang lalo pa akong magsumikap sa aking negosyo.

Ang aking mensahe sa aking mga kapwa miyembro, huwag tayong matakot sumubok na magnegosyo. Basta may kasamang sipag, tiyaga, at diskarte, at kasama ang NEC Multipurpose Cooperative bilang ating kaagapay, posible nating makamit ang unti-unting pag-asenso sa buhay.

Edzel Semilla, a member of NEC Multipurpose Cooperative – Batasan Branch (now Fairview Branch) for over 11 years, exemplifies how determination and cooperative support can transform lives.

A resident of Batasan Hills, Quezon City, Edzel earns a living through multiple sources, including operating a water refilling station, driving a tricycle, managing a carwash business, and working as a dog trainer. His journey began in 2015 when he acquired his water refilling station as his primary source of income.

At the early stage of his business, Edzel faced challenges in sustaining operations due to limited capital. While expanding his customer base, he realized the need for additional resources to meet demand. It was during this time that he discovered NEC Multipurpose Cooperative. After learning about its programs and services, he decided to become a member—marking the beginning of his financial growth.

Through the cooperative, Edzel was able to access loans that he used to purchase additional supplies for his business. This support enabled him to meet customer demand, improve service quality, and strengthen client satisfaction. More importantly, it helped him and his family develop financial discipline, particularly in saving and managing their income.

Over the years, Edzel’s livelihood has grown beyond his initial venture. From a single water refilling station, he was able to expand into other income-generating activities, including a carwash business and tricycle operations. He shares that one of the most significant changes in his life is his improved financial management and stability.

Coming from humble beginnings, Edzel never imagined that he would be able to establish and sustain multiple businesses. Through the support of the cooperative, he was able to turn this into reality.

For Edzel, being part of the cooperative goes beyond access to financial services. As a co-owner, he values the benefits, including savings growth and insurance, as well as the opportunity to be part of an organization that empowers its members.

Today, Edzel continues to aspire for more. His long-term goal is to own a farm for his retirement—an aspiration he believes can be achieved with the continued support of the cooperative.

Sa Brgy. Danlagan, Lopez, Quezon, isang simpleng pangarap ang nagsilbing simula ng kwento ni Maria Helen J. Canimo—ang mapabuti ang kalagayang pinansyal ng kanyang pamilya. Limang taon na ang nakalilipas nang siya ay maging miyembro ng NEC Multi-Purpose Cooperative, at mula noon, naging mahalagang bahagi ang kooperatiba sa kanyang pag-unlad.

Sa tulong ng mabilis at maaasahang serbisyo ng NEC, nagkaroon si Maria Helen ng madaling access sa pondo sa tuwing ito ay kinakailangan. Para sa kanya, malaking bagay ang isang institusyong hindi lamang nagbibigay ng tulong pinansyal, kundi mabilis ding tumutugon sa pangangailangan ng mga miyembro—isang katangiang kanyang tunay na pinahahalagahan.

Dahil sa suportang ito, unti-unti niyang natupad ang ilan sa kanyang pinakamahalagang pangarap. Isa na rito ang pagpapatayo ng kanilang sariling bahay—isang simbolo ng seguridad at tagumpay para sa kanyang pamilya. Bukod dito, nagkaroon din siya ng oportunidad na mapalawak ang kanyang kabuhayan sa pamamagitan ng pagkuha ng sanglaang niyugan, na nagsilbing dagdag na pinagkukunan ng kita.

Sa bawat hamon na kanyang kinaharap, naging katuwang niya ang NEC sa pamamagitan ng pagbibigay ng karagdagang kapital na nagpalakas sa kanyang negosyo at kabuhayan. Dahil dito, hindi siya nag- atubiling ibahagi at irekomenda ang kooperatiba sa iba, bilang patunay ng kanyang tiwala at pasasalamat.

Para kay Maria Helen, ang NEC Multi-Purpose Cooperative ay higit pa sa isang institusyon—ito ay isang maaasahang kaagapay na patuloy na sumusuporta sa bawat miyembro sa pag-abot ng kanilang mga pangarap.
